My horses and I haven't been outside of our yard. I just started training my 2-year-old in the saddle and hope to get out on the trails once she is ready. My other horse is a yearling and will be a pack buddy when my 2-year-old is ready.

My favorite memories with a horse would be from childhood. I grew up on a standardbred ranch and learned to ride on the retired trotters! My favorite horse and best buddy growing up was an 18h standardbred that wouldn't break out of a trot for anything. He was a rough ride but a great horse and the first horse I every rode. After him, my big draft feels smooth, smooth, smooth. I would stay home from school with a "fever" so I could ride him all day without any eyes telling me not to go there or do that. We had the best times together.
