After all, she's been coming here for clinics for six or seven years, and its only in the last four that I've become a devotee.

Call me stubborn, but I've never wanted to be a "disciple" of a trainer. I know people (and have seen it up close) who become devoted and then drop their trainers like hot rocks, hurting the trainer's feelings and interrupting their horse's training. I've not been one of those people. I always kepy a good distance, clinic-ed with people here and there, remained friendly to everyone, taken some lessons, kept my horses at home away from the trainer-disciple problem at boarding stables.

http://www.YourHorseSports.com/blog-riding_with_nicole#comments bereiter dressage shows dressage training horseback riding lessons Miscellaneous Sun, 15 Apr 2007 10:05:48 -0600 emily 169 at http://www.YourHorseSports.com Lessons from Non-Riding Vacations http://www.YourHorseSports.com/blog-lessons_from_non_riding_vacations
Happy to be home--everyone has four legs, and the barn is tidy.
Went out to ride today for the first time in 13 days, and found that other than general stiffness, Baleno felt pretty good. He immediately developed a nice foam mustache (doesn't happen often with Mr. Teeth Clencher) and really wanted to be round. So I was thinking about it how nice it is to ride after a long break (because face it, even though we love horses, it's nice to take a break now and then), and came across these post-vacation thoughts on riding:

1) After a vacation, both you and the horse are more relaxed. For nearly two weeks, I spent minimal time sitting in front of a computer--at most an hour every other day to check email, vs. at home where it's more like 9 or 10 hours crunched up, staring at a screen. Hence no "computer neck" or back stiffness.

http://www.YourHorseSports.com/blog-lessons_from_non_riding_vacations#comments ADVICE Dressage horse training horseback riding horseback riding lessons riding Fri, 06 Apr 2007 18:03:28 -0600 emily 146 at http://www.YourHorseSports.com At Dusk http://www.YourHorseSports.com/picture-everybody_needs_a_hug
Book Cover Outtakes- bad lighting, good picture (IMHO)
http://www.YourHorseSports.com/picture-everybody_needs_a_hug#comments Dressage Dressage horseback riding horseback riding lessons training Tue, 13 Mar 2007 13:52:57 -0600 emily 91 at http://www.YourHorseSports.com Book Cover Outtakes http://www.YourHorseSports.com/picture-book_cover_outtakes
Something very much like the multi-armed Ganesh from Hinduism about this photo!
http://www.YourHorseSports.com/picture-book_cover_outtakes#comments Dressage Dressage horse training horseback riding lessons jumping longeing Tue, 13 Mar 2007 13:50:15 -0600 emily 90 at http://www.YourHorseSports.com
