She is a Drum Horse. Gypsy/Shire. I love her big feet, too, and they are only going to get bigger as she is only 2 and a 1/2. They look just huge compared to my little yearly KY MT horse.
Thank you. I am actually very lucky to have found her. She was orphaned at 3 weeks when her mother (shire) fell and severly injured her spine. Mystic went to a lady that was able to hand raise her and provide her with round-the-clock care. She came to me at 3 months old, and we have been together ever since. You can find Drum Horses on the internet. They are becoming more common but still are somewhat hard to find. My favorite site is www.gypsyhorses.com and click the Drum Horse link. They are an absolute treasure. So big but so kind and willing.
I have been cruising around online and also found out that they are VERY expensive. Ouch! Some are outrageous, but others more reasonable. I would love to have one, but medicine for daughter is expensive and that is the first priority! You are so blessed to have such a beautiful gal~!
I know, it is crazy what you can pay. I think the expense is because most of the stock is still being imported and they are still a rare breed in the US. A big spotted draft can be just as beautiful and they are much more reasonably priced. If you get one with Shire/Clyd breeding, they usually have some feather too. nasdha.net or drafthorseclassifieds.com
Thanks~! I will keep looking. If you hear of a rescue near VA we are interested. I can't put out a lot up front, but we have a large place/farm to keep them on.

Is she a Gypsy Vanner? I've never seen one before. I love her big hoofs and feathers.
