Here's a special contest just for participants and attendees in the Paso del Norte
Dressage Society's Amigos de Dressage event, May 12-13.

YourHorseSports.com enthusiast-in-chief Emily Esterson will be competing and covering the event, but we'd also like to see YOUR photos (and video if you shoot some) and read your thoughts about the weekend.

So if you're at the event, post your words, photos or video to YourHorseSports.com. We'll pick the best submission from the event and award the winner a DVD from the recent Rolex FEI World Cup Finals (Las Vegas) in Dressage or Jumping.

Completely airborne, all legs contracted, pitted against the cloudless sky. Both rider and horse locked in a zone of total concentration. It's a classic jumping moment, beautifully captured.

It's also the winner of our first ever Best Photo Contest! (We're a little late in announcing the winner, but one look at the pictures submitted to the site and you'll see why there was some serious deliberation over the choice.)

As you'll figure out if you hang out here on YourHorseSports.com - we're going to be big on contests. We'll routinely select the best photos, videos and stories submitted by YourHorseSports members and send them cool horse-related schwag.

To help get everyone in the picture-posting and prize-winning moods, we'll start simple: post your best, funniest, most original or innovative horse pictures, and we'll pick out the Best Picture on Friday, April 6th. Whichever registered member wins will receive a horse-related DVD or book of their choice.

Look at the top of any page on YourHorseSports.com. (Then come back!) ... Do you have a photo that would look great there (with your name on it, of course)?

In what is sort of an ongoing contest on this website, we will periodically select the best photos posted to the YourHorseSports.com photo galleries and put them in rotation to appear on the site's "masthead."

If you post a great shot, we can't guarantee it will appear in the masthead. But if it can be cropped to work well in that horizontal space, we'll use it.

What's in it for you? Fame, of course! We'll put your YourHorseSports user name (or real name if you prefer) on the masthead photo. And we'll send you a horse-related book of your choosing -- as a thank you.
