he is very handsome! I love the picture!
this is a very nice picture! I got some of my senior pictures taken with my horse Neo!
aww thanks, we actually finally picked one out- Dorian is his name.
Thank you. I guess I'm going to try this again...-Praise The Lord!
How many rescues are there? Seems like you've got many horses, Samantha! How did you come to have so many?
Welcome...Samantha. It took me a few days but here I am, hoping you'll drop in and post some pictures.
Using sidereins is a good way to train the horse to go "forward into the bridle"--what this means is that she has go forward from her hindquarters, arch and round her back and take contact with the side reins. The side reins should be long to start, buckled low on the girth or surcingle, and not on the top rings (if that's what you're using). Longeing is a real art, so ask your instructor for help with this, too. It will help Missy learn to use her body correctly and go on the bit.
Thanks! I think because of finances, I am going to wait a month and enter a mixed show that my new instructor already goes to. I REALLY want to go to a Dressage schooling show that's not far away, but I would have to pay an arm and a leg to ship MISSY there since there are no other Dressage people at this new barn. But you're right- the instructor IS finding errors in both MISSY's and my performances in lessons. It helps to have a goal, though, right? -Praise The Lord!
It sounds like something I need! I will definitely check it out.-Praise The Lord!
Nerve damage is no fun at all. A few years ago Neo tripped and fell on me and I damaged some nerves in my back! Thankfully there wasn't much lasting damage and I can function pretty normally, I just can't do too much straining on my back anymore. I guess just make sure you explore all your options with that kind of problem- there are a lot of treatments for people so hopefully there are some for your horse too!
I'm so sorry that you're discovering problems now :( that's so depressing!

Thanks so much, my brother has been hounding me for one!(he's twelve and loves horses and star wars!)
he was about 35 but we're not entirely sure, even still that's very old for a Belgian!
I know what you mean about selling horses, I haven't been able to sell one that I've purchased!
Wow! So much has happened since your last post. How old was Elmo? I am starting my filly-she's very smart--too smart- and seriously working her now two or three days a week.
I don't know what I'll do with her. Now and then I think about selling her, but since I raised her, that's going to be really tough to do.
I get very attached to them. I guess I'm a lousy horse trader.
Well, you know, we;re discovering problems. I think he might have pinched a nerve in his neck.
We're exploring--the vet was out yesterday and we did a pretty thorough workup, and he's wanting to see if he improves with four days of bute.
Thanks for your concern. I have a box of Horse stickers--send me your mailing address and I'll drop one in the mail.
-Emily
I hope everything goes well! head injuries are very scary!
By the way, are you still giving away "May the Horse be with you" stickers? my younger brother would really like one if they are still available

I have heard the same thing too. That sounds like a good name, but if it causes confusion in the barn, change it! My horse MISSY is stabled with another Missy, and it gets confusing, but oh well! -Praise The Lord!
