Posted by Beissin on 4/7/2008 on Beissin's blog Well, it looks as though things are going well for us at last! MISSY's really stepping up here at the new farm. She's amazing! She just got her first corrective shoe and first full hoof trimming last week, and it is already improving her walk. She was a pretty good girl, too- no farriers landing on their backs on the floor, no tranquilizers, and all of her feet look terrific! I'm so proud of my girl! MISSY got to go out in the field with some other mares last week, and although it seemed at first that she would not fit in, another black Quarter Horse named Chatty buddied up to her, causing Miss Piggy to do the same. It was great to see her interacting with the other riding horses! She gets to go out with them tomorrow, too. Today, April 7th, is MISSY's 11th birthday! Happy birthday my MISSY! Two other horses at the farm share this birth date, and we were talking about doing a party, but it turned out to be all talk. Still, I said "Happy Birthday" to MISSY, Georgia, and Matthew when I fed and watered them this morning. I have to get MISSY's carrots out of the fridge and give them to her while they're still fresh. She's very picky about things like that! This weekend, Doug came out and we rode MISSY in the indoor arena, across the top of the mountain, and down the driveway, across the railroad tracks, and through the cemetery. She was FANTASTIC! I love my horse! Yesterday I rode her and I let a great little girl named Alex ride her, and she let me ride her horse. It was a terrific day! Well, I'd better go. I got the new issue of "Dressage Today" this weekend and the first page had an interview with Anky van Grunsven, my FAVORITE Dressage rider ever! She said that her horses get out of their stalls 5 times a day, and MISSY hasn't been out ONCE today! I'd better get crackin' if she is going to be an Olympic gold winner! |
Happy Birthday MISSY
