Fjord Stallion at Play

Posted by freyafjord on 3/24/2007 on freyafjord's blog

I don't have any videos of my own to enter, but I would like to share the YouTube video at the following site. It's one of my favorites and the song is so perfect. Some people think fjords are slow and can't canter. This video will clarify the issue.

Freya, do you know this stallion? He's gorgeous. I'm seriously considering a fjord as my next horse, and since they are in colorado, it might be worth a drive.

By the way, I posted the video from youtube on the video site. There's a direct link there now.

I don't know the stallion personally but I have met Beth and Sandy from Starfire Farm. Beth said Obelisk may be her second horse of a lifetime. I also know someone who has a fjord from Starfire called Arend. He got 4 or 5 blue ribbons in introductory dressage tests a year or two ago. Then he injured some tendons and has been out of action for awhile, but he may be working again.

There's a grand prix-level stallion up in Washington--he's really cool and for a time I considered going up there to talk with the woman who rides him about good fjord dressage bloodlines. It just never happened.
